Hurghada stretches along the coast from north to south. It's a long city. In the north is the prestigious Al Gouna, in the south — Safaga. There are many districts between them, and each with its own character, pros and cons.
Al Gouna
Prestigious and eco-friendly area. Only 5* and luxury 4* hotels. It is called the "Egyptian Venice" — there are artificial canals, yachts, electric cars instead of cars. It is very green, clean and beautiful, there is the best school and hospital in the region.
Pros: status, security, silence, well-developed infrastructure, unobtrusive service.
Cons: very expensive real estate.

Al Aheya
A long area with a free wide beach, rare for Hurghada. Gentle entrance to the sea, coral in places. The north has free access, while the south is occupied by hotels. There are schools, and housing is cheaper than in the center. It used to be a tourist destination, but now it is actively developing, residential complexes, resorts, and infrastructure are being built.
Pros: budget accommodation by the sea, spacious beaches, much quieter than in the very center, actively developing.
Cons: it's a long way to the center, but there are minibuses.

Al Helal
A peaceful green area right by the sea with low-rise houses and villas. It is located near the administrative center and the Palace of Culture. There are free beaches, few cars, and no signals. One mosque (a rarity for Hurghada), the construction of a Christian church is planned. There are many expats, mostly Europeans (Germans, Austrians, Swiss), and many Russians. There is a sports club, a diving school, a surf school, a city library and a public garden. The area can be bypassed in 40 minutes. The passport office, where foreigners apply for visas, is just a 10-minute walk away.
